Great start for your paper. Starting with the examples you plan to analyze for the paper gave me a really good indication of the direction you wish to take with the paper. I have a few suggestions in terms of organization. It reads to me like you have the beginnings of what might be two different paper topics. On the one hand, you have the issue with viral marketing and videos and identity theft via e-mail, malicious links etc. Then on the other hand, you talk about viral videos and their impacts within political campaigns. I think you might want to pick one topic (either viral videos and political campaigns, or viral marketing and identity theft) as these seem to be more separate issues and I can’t really detect the connection between the two. It seems like both would be good directions to go in, but you seem to have written more (here and in other blog postings) about the viral video impacts. You could possibly do an analysis of the different political viral videos, and talk about the debates around them. You could focus on all the presidential candidates, or pick a party. Comparing and contrasting the responses and methods of distribution of the videos (YesWeCan, Hot4Hill, RonPaul Revolution, etc.) might be yet another way to go with these topics. Overall, you have a very good start.

I’d suggest to just drop the identity theft and just focus on the viral videos and political campaigns. viral marketing could be mentioned, but it shouldn’t be your focus at all.

item IIB isn’t necessary. it’s a research paper, you don’t need to come up with a set of instruction on “how-to” gain recognition or spread messages. focus on IIC — analysis, start digging on good methods of collecting and analyzing data.

overall, good job. could potentially be a very interesting paper.
